create_mediaTHE default tool for images and videos. For voiceovers or narration, call generate_speech instead (quote the exact spoken script first with estimate_cost). Say what the user wants in brief and NinjaChat handles the rest: new images ("make me a hero shot"), edits ("make the car red" + source), animation ("bring it to life" + source), side-by-side options ("give me 4 different takes"), or best-under-budget (quality:"best" + max_spend_cents). quality defaults to fast so the first picture is cheap and immediate; pass balanced or best when they ask for more. Never surface model names. Reach for the specialist tools only when you need fine control.
generate_speechCreate a voiceover, narration, podcast intro or spoken translation as a downloadable MP3 or WAV. Nine built-in voices; tts-1 costs $0.015 per 1,000 characters, tts-1-hd $0.03. Quote the exact script with estimate_cost(tool:generate_speech,input:...) and get approval before spending. Scripts up to 4,096 characters; speed 0.25–4. Text is read literally. No voice cloning, music, sound effects, emotion instructions or automatic video mixing. Tell listeners the voice is AI-generated.
generate_imageAdvanced. Prefer create_media. Create 1-4 images the user sees right in the conversation — results come back as rendered images plus full-resolution links. model:"auto" picks the right engine for the job (from $0.02/image) and explains the choice. After showing the result, the user can continue naturally: source:"2" edits or animates a specific output, no URLs needed.
edit_imageChange an existing image with one instruction — "make the car red", "warm the tones", "swap the background". Use source:"last" or an output number to edit a previous result directly (no URLs), or reference_image_urls / upload_asset for outside images. Returns the edited image rendered inline.
generate_videoCreate a video from a description — Veo, Seedance, or Kling, picked automatically (from $0.60). Rendering takes a minute or two: tell the user it's underway, then poll get_generation_status silently until the playable video link is ready. Failed renders refund automatically.
image_to_videoBring an image to life as a video — "animate this", "make it loop", "add motion". Use source:"last" or an output number to animate a previous result directly (no URLs), or image_url / upload_asset for outside images. Pass end_image_url to also LOCK the final frame (seedance-pro or seedance-lite): the clip travels from start still to end still — the primitive for seam-locked scene chains and scroll-cinema legs (art-direct the stills first, then buy exactly the motion between them). Same flow as generate_video: brief wait, then a playable link.
get_generation_statusCheck on a rendering video (free, poll silently every ~15s). Comes back pending with a progress note, succeeded with the playable video link, or failed — failures refund automatically and the user is never charged for a failure. Internal ids stay internal: give the user the video, not the plumbing.
search_creationsBring back anything the user made before — "that coffee logo from last week" — by searching their generated images, videos and voiceovers by prompt or model. Free. Continue from a hit by passing its generation_id as source to edit_image / image_to_video instead of regenerating from scratch.
get_creationFetch one creation by generation_id — its outputs, prompt, model, and (for videos) live job status. Free to call.
save_creation_asSave a result under a reusable name — the persistent half of creative memory. After a keeper: save_creation_as {name:"Maya", type:"character"} — then "use Maya" works forever, across sessions ("the same girl from yesterday", "the sneaker from the last photoshoot"). Saving the same name again adds the new result as another reference. Free.
list_creative_entitiesThe user's saved projects, characters, products, and styles — names, reference counts, and when each was last used. Free. Pass any name via use:[...] on a generation tool to apply its references.
compare_modelsThe bakeoff: one prompt, several engines at once, one strict budget — the user sees a labeled side-by-side gallery IN the conversation with each image's model, price, and speed, then picks a winner to edit or animate (source:"2"). Models that would blow the budget are skipped, failures never charged. Use this whenever the user wants options or "the best" of anything.
search_modelsList NinjaChat's image, video and voice models with per-generation price, speed, strengths and reference-image support. Free to call. Use before generate_image/generate_video when the user cares about a specific look, budget, or capability.
estimate_costFree pre-flight check: exact cost of a planned generation, which model auto-routing would pick (with the reason), and whether it fits the account balance and monthly spend limit. Use before spending, especially for voiceovers: pass the exact spoken script in input.
upload_assetBring the user's own image into the loop — a product shot to edit, a face to keep consistent, a frame to animate. Provide its exact byte size; the returned 10-minute PUT URL is bound to that size. Then pass the permanent public URL as a reference. Free to call.
prepare_scrub_videoTurn a finished video generation into a scroll-cinema kit: scrub-optimized MP4s (desktop + mobile, dense keyframes so scroll-driven seeking is instant), poster frames, and first/last source frames for chaining longer journeys with image_to_video. Returns CDN URLs plus the exact page markup contract — feed the result to publish_page for a live cinematic scroll site on ninja.site. Free to call.
publish_pagePublish a complete HTML page to the user's own ninja.site subdomain — instantly live, shareable, no deploy pipeline. The finishing move for scroll-cinema sites: generate a film (generate_video), prepare it for scrubbing (prepare_scrub_video), compose the page with the returned markup, publish here. Handles are claimed automatically on first publish (or pass site_username). Reusing a slug you own updates that page. Free to call.
get_account_balanceWhat the account can make right now: balance translated into images and videos it buys, this month's spend against the user's limit, and the subscriber allowance. Free to call. Never call this before the first create_media in a session — make the picture first. Use before big jobs, and describe the balance in creations, not raw cents.
add_creditsStart a credit purchase on this MCP connection. Returns checkout_url — you MUST show that link to the user so they can pay ($25 default, or $100 or $250). Free to call. Never call this before the first create_media. Call it when a generation returns insufficient_credits, then retry after they pay. Does not enable auto-reload.
