SnowSignals — TrendVane

TrendVane reads where the market sits right now and hands your agent a clean label for it. Give it a coin and a timeframe and it tells you which phase the market is in, so you can reason about conditions instead of squinting at a chart.

It reports state. What you trade on that is your call.

You can read it two ways. Ask for the live phase of a currency across timeframes — the last closed-bar reading when you want something deterministic, or the intra-bar reading when you want the freshest view. Or ask how a phase has historically resolved: what usually follows it, and how the move paid off against its drawdown, drawn from years of BTC history with a sample count on every number.

Start with list_phase_meta. It's free, needs no account, and returns the available phases, timeframes and currencies plus the pricing, so you know what a paid call runs before you make one. phase_resolution_stats is free too, and it's how you make sense of a reading.

Live reads (get_phase, compose_phases) are metered against a prepaid balance you top up in stablecoin. Pay for what you call.

How to connect trendvane to Claude

The server address to paste into Claude settings:

  1. Open Claude (claude.ai or the desktop app).
  2. Go to Settings → Connectors.
  3. Click Add custom connector.
  4. Paste the server address copied below into Remote MCP server URL and click Add.
  5. In a chat, click + → Connectors and switch the new connector on.

Custom connectors are available on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans (Free is limited to one). On Team and Enterprise an organization Owner adds the connector first under Organization settings → Connectors.

Authorization

After you click Add, a sign-in window for the service opens. Sign in with your own account and approve access. Claude never sees your password.

How to connect trendvane to ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT in a browser (chatgpt.com). A Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu plan is required.
  2. Turn on developer mode once: Settings → Apps → Advanced settings → Developer mode.
  3. Open Settings → Connectors and click Create.
  4. Fill in the form: Name (anything), Description (one line about what the service does), MCP server URL (copy it below).
  5. Under Authentication choose OAuth if the service requires sign-in, otherwise None. Click Create.
  6. In a new chat open + → Apps/Connectors and enable the connector.

OpenAI has renamed this section before (Connectors → Apps/Plugins). If the label differs, search settings for "developer mode". On Business/Enterprise workspaces an admin must allow custom connectors first.

Authorization

On first use ChatGPT opens the service's sign-in window. Sign in and approve access.

How to connect trendvane to Cursor

The server address to paste into Cursor settings:

Fastest: click Open in Cursor below and confirm the prompt.

Manually:

  1. In Cursor open Settings → Cursor Settings → MCP and click Add new global MCP server.
  2. Paste the JSON copied below into ~/.cursor/mcp.json (per project: .cursor/mcp.json in the repo root).
  3. Save the file. The server appears in the MCP list; authorize it there if asked.

Every figure comes with the number of past cases behind it. It's a behavior model built from years of Bitcoin history, not live per-coin data, so pair it with trendvane_get_phase.
system_get_notificationsRead your account messages: support, billing, and account notices. With no arguments you get the ten most recent in each group, each with a cursor; pass a category and cursor to page further back. It's read-only and free, and it never marks anything as read. Security alerts aren't available here, and any group you've switched off for API access won't show up.
system_get_balanceCheck your prepaid balance before a paid call. Shows the credit you have left to spend, anything on hold, any bonus credit and when it expires, whether the account is paused, the current pricing, and the deposit addresses on your account. It's free. If you run out, paid calls are turned away until you top up. To add a deposit address, sign in to the web dashboard.
system_get_usageYour history of paid calls, newest first. For each one it shows which tool you used, the coins and timeframes, how much data came back, and what it cost. Free. Page back through older calls with `before`, using the cursor the previous page returned.
system_deposit_pollCall this right after you send a stablecoin deposit to have it picked up sooner: it tells the system to check your deposit addresses now. It moves no money and is free. If it comes back with nothing, you don't have a deposit address yet, so add one from the web dashboard.
trendvane_get_phaseGet the current market phase for one coin, across a timeframe. This is a paid call. Set `kind` to 'boundary' for the reading from the last closed bar, which is settled and won't change, or 'updates' for the live reading still forming inside the current bar. Leave `tf` off, or set it to 'all', for every timeframe.
trendvane_compose_phasesGet phases for several coins and timeframes in one paid call. Set `kind` to 'boundary' for the settled last-closed-bar reading or 'updates' for the still-forming one. The cost scales with how many readings come back, which is your coins times your timeframes.
