    How to connect siftivo to Claude

    The server address to paste into Claude settings:

    https://api.siftivo.com/mcp

    1. Open Claude (claude.ai or the desktop app).
    2. Go to Settings → Connectors.
    3. Click Add custom connector.
    4. Paste the server address copied below into Remote MCP server URL and click Add.
    5. In a chat, click + → Connectors and switch the new connector on.

    Custom connectors are available on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans (Free is limited to one). On Team and Enterprise an organization Owner adds the connector first under Organization settings → Connectors.

    Authorization

    After you click Add, a sign-in window for the service opens. Sign in with your own account and approve access. Claude never sees your password.

    How to connect siftivo to ChatGPT

    The server address to paste into ChatGPT settings:

    https://api.siftivo.com/mcp

    1. Open ChatGPT in a browser (chatgpt.com). A Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu plan is required.
    2. Turn on developer mode once: Settings → Apps → Advanced settings → Developer mode.
    3. Open Settings → Connectors and click Create.
    4. Fill in the form: Name (anything), Description (one line about what the service does), MCP server URL (copy it below).
    5. Under Authentication choose OAuth if the service requires sign-in, otherwise None. Click Create.
    6. In a new chat open + → Apps/Connectors and enable the connector.

    OpenAI has renamed this section before (Connectors → Apps/Plugins). If the label differs, search settings for "developer mode". On Business/Enterprise workspaces an admin must allow custom connectors first.

    Authorization

    On first use ChatGPT opens the service's sign-in window. Sign in and approve access.

    How to connect siftivo to Cursor

    The server address to paste into Cursor settings:

    Fastest: click Open in Cursor below and confirm the prompt.

    Manually:

    1. In Cursor open Settings → Cursor Settings → MCP and click Add new global MCP server.
    2. Paste the JSON copied below into ~/.cursor/mcp.json (per project: .cursor/mcp.json in the repo root).
    3. Save the file. The server appears in the MCP list; authorize it there if asked.

    If the service needs sign-in, an authorize button appears next to the server in the MCP list.

    search_booksKeyword search over the Siftivo book catalog. Matches titles, authors, and descriptions. Returns works with the ids other Siftivo tools accept.
    get_bookFull detail for one book: synopsis, authors, series position, genres, and its page on siftivo.com. Accepts a work id, an edition id, or a slug.
    what_to_read_nextGiven one book, what to read after it: the next books in its series, more by the same author, and books that read like it. This is the same set the book page on siftivo.com shows.
    get_authorAn author, their biography, and the works Siftivo holds for them. Accepts an author id or slug.
    get_seriesA series and its works in reading order. Accepts a series id or slug.
    get_reading_indexThe weekly Siftivo Reading Index: the fiction and nonfiction books moving most in cultural circulation this week, ranked.
    recommend_from_descriptionDescribe what someone is in the mood for, in their own words, and get books that match. Use this for a theme, subject or feeling ("books about grief", "cozy mysteries set in Cornwall"). Use search_books instead when you already know the title or author.
    recommend_from_titlesGive Siftivo a few books someone liked, by title, and get books like them. Titles are resolved against the catalog first; anything that does not resolve is reported back rather than guessed at.
    get_my_libraryThe signed-in reader's own Siftivo library: what they want to read, are reading, finished, or set down, with their ratings.
    add_to_libraryPut a book on one of the signed-in reader's shelves, move it to a different shelf, rate it, or record how far through it they are. Pass a workId from search_books, get_book, or recommend_from_titles. "Finished it, four stars" is one call with readingStatus FINISHED and rating 4.
    get_my_bookWhether the signed-in reader has this book on a shelf, and if so which shelf, their rating and how far through they are. Answers "have I read this?" without pulling the whole library.
    remove_from_libraryTake a book off the signed-in reader's shelves entirely, discarding their rating and progress for it. To move it to a different shelf instead, call add_to_library with a new readingStatus.
