Server tool list (39)
Raw names from tools/list. Only developers need these.
| get_account_transactions_report | Period account-movement report (the "new" account transactions report): per-account debit/credit/balance for the period, PLUS opening balances, income/expense, and retained sections. periodType groups the reporting period (DAILY/WEEKLY/MONTHLY/QUARTERLY/YEARLY). Built on the same engine trial-balance endpoint (Verified) — richer than get_financial_statement trial_balance, which returns only the account movements. Read-only. |
| get_asset_custody_report | Fixed assets organized by CUSTODIAN (who holds them): each asset with its holder, location, and current value, plus a per-custodian roll-up (asset count + total purchase/net-book value). Filter by assignedToUserId and/or location. Depreciation/net book value are NuMetric-computed as-of today (Verified). Read-only. |
| get_asset_report | Fixed assets. `register` is the asset list NuMetric's own Assets Report shows (account-based, reconciles to the balance sheet by class) — name, type, GL account, cost, purchase date, and a depreciation RATE (a percent, not a charge). `schedule` and the depreciation totals come from NuMetric's separate PURCHASE register, which computes period/accumulated depreciation and net book value server-side. THE TWO ARE DIFFERENT POPULATIONS: when they do not reconcile, the depreciation figures are null and `reconciliation` says why — read the period charge from the Depreciation Expense account in get_financial_statement instead, and never report 0 as the depreciation. Confidence is Verified only when the schedule actually covers the register. Note the register ignores startDate/endDate. Optional filters: isAuto, assetAccountId, assignedToUserId, location. Read-only. |
| get_bill_status | AP status of one vendor bill (status, due date, due amount, total). Pass billId, or billNumber (resolved from the bill list). Read-only. |
| get_cash_position | Current combined cash and bank balance for the connected business. Read-only. |
| get_cashier_attendance | Login-session attendance for one cashier over a date range: per-day login/logout times and duration. Requires cashierEmail (the cashier's login email — the report is per cashier). Login-session timing, not POS-terminal clock-in/out. NuMetric-sourced (Verified). Read-only. |
| get_cashier_sales_invoices | One cashier's invoices over a date range (invoice-list view): per invoice — number, customer, dates, order source, POS/cash flags, subtotal/tax/discount/total/due, item count, and status — plus totals. Requires cashierEmail. Same underlying sales as get_cashier_sales_items (which aggregates by product instead). NuMetric-sourced (Verified). Read-only. |
| get_cashier_sales_items | Units sold per product across ONE cashier's invoices over a date range: per product — quantity (units), gross line amount (price × qty, before invoice-level discounts/tax), and invoice count. Requires cashierEmail (the report is per cashier). The per-product roll-up is computed from the engine's invoice line items (stated in notes). Read-only. |
| get_daily_transactions | General-journal listing over a date range: one row per double-entry line — date, serial number, transaction number, description, category (Invoice/COGS/…), type, account, debit, credit — plus engine debit/credit totals and a balanced check. Rows sharing serialNumber belong to one transaction. NuMetric-computed (Verified). Read-only. |
| get_document | Download one document's content as base64, with metadata (file name, type, size). Requires fileId (from list_documents). NOTE: content is returned INLINE as base64 — large files consume a lot of context, so files over maxBytes (default 5 MB) return metadata only (contentReturned:false); raise maxBytes to force. Read-only. |
| get_document_bundle | Download a ZIP of ALL documents attached to one record (invoice/bill/JV/product/…) as base64, with size. Requires referenceId (from list_documents — the record the files are attached to). Same size guard as get_document (default 5 MB → metadata only above it). Read-only. |
| get_financial_statement | Accrual-basis financial statement: statement = "profit_loss" (account-based income/expense + net profit), "balance_sheet" (assets/liabilities/equity as of endDate), "trial_balance" (per-account debit/credit/balance), "general_ledger" (per-account transaction detail with running balance — requires accountId), or "cash_flow" (monthly net cash in/out + net change for the year of endDate). Each carries a Verified/Guarded confidence and a `signConvention`. SIGNS DIFFER BY STATEMENT: trial_balance and general_ledger are ledger-signed (debit − credit, so a normal liability/income account is NEGATIVE and trial_balance rows expose magnitude/side/isNormalSide), while balance_sheet and profit_loss are presentation-magnitude (every line positive, the section carries the meaning). The same payable is therefore negative in trial_balance and positive on balance_sheet — that is presentation, not a contradiction. This tool is the authority when a subledger or aging figure disagrees. Read-only. |
| get_invoice_source_report | Non-draft invoices over a date range, filterable by SOURCE: orderFrom (e.g. "POS-Order"), customer, project, invoiceScope (local/export), invoiceKind (cash/regular). Each invoice carries customer, dates, order source, amounts (subtotal/tax/shipping/total/due), COGS, and status. Returns per-page sums and pagination. NuMetric-computed (Verified). Read-only. |
| get_invoice_status | AR status of one invoice (primary/secondary status, due date, due amount, total). Pass invoiceId, or invoiceNumber (resolved from the invoice list). Read-only. |
| get_item_summary | Per-item stock-movement ledger over a date range: each movement — date, transaction type (Sales Invoice/Purchase/…), signed quantity, running closing stock, price, reference number — plus the item name and ending stock. Requires itemId (from list_products). NuMetric-computed (Verified). Read-only. |
| get_kpis | First-class accounting KPIs for a period: cash runway, current ratio, DSO, DPO, revenue concentration, and unreviewed-transaction count. Each returns its value, raw inputs, and a "confidence" (Verified/Guarded) — hedge on any Guarded figure. Note: NuMetric tracks "reviewed" (not bank "reconciled") status. KPIs the caller lacks scope for return value:null with a note. Read-only. |
| get_multi_project_profit_loss | Profit & loss broken down PER PROJECT for the given projects over a date range: NuMetric-computed income, expense, and net profit per project, plus a combined total across them. Get project ids from list_projects. Figures are computed by the accounting engine (Verified) — do not re-derive them. Read-only. |
| get_payables | Money we owe, both ways round. `outstanding` answers "how much do we owe in total" (outstandingTotal across all bills, plus the overdue slice, unpaid count, and a Verified/Guarded confidence). `aging` answers "how much of it has aged" — buckets from firstPhase (newest aged) to lastPhase (oldest), scope "aged_only", covering ONLY what has crossed NuMetric's aging threshold. Aging is a SUBSET of outstanding, so aging below the total (including 0 against a large balance, meaning every bill is current) is expected and healthy — never report "no payables" from the aging figure. Both are unsigned magnitudes, not ledger-signed. The cross-check is in outstanding.reconciliation.agedPayables. Read-only. |
| get_receivables | Money owed to us: AGED receivables buckets (firstPhase = newest aged → lastPhase = oldest) plus an overdue summary that cross-checks status-based vs due-date aging and returns a "Verified" or "Guarded" confidence. The aging buckets are scope: "aged_only" — only what has crossed NuMetric's aging threshold, a SUBSET of total outstanding — so use `overdue.outstandingTotal` for the total owed to us and the buckets for how much of it is overdue. Aged below outstanding is expected; only aged EXCEEDING outstanding is a data error. Treat a Guarded overdue figure as unconfirmed. Read-only. |
| get_sales_tax | Sales-tax / VAT report for a date range: output VAT (tax collected on sales) and input VAT (tax paid on purchases), per tax account, with taxable bases, tax totals, and the net tax payable (output − input). All figures are NuMetric-computed (Verified) — do not re-derive them. Read-only. |
| get_sales_tax_transactions | Per-transaction sales-tax (VAT) detail for ONE tax account over a date range: each invoice/bill with its net amount, tax amount, and total. Requires accountId — the tax account id (get it from list_chart_of_accounts). Each row's type is "Invoice" (output VAT) or "Bill" (input VAT). NuMetric-computed (Verified) — do not re-derive. Read-only. |
| get_source_quantity_report | Units sold per product across non-draft invoices in a date range, filterable by source (orderFrom, customer, project, invoiceScope local/export, invoiceKind cash/regular). Per product: quantity (units), gross line amount (price × qty, before invoice-level discounts/tax), and invoice count. Quantities roll up the engine's invoice line items (NuMetric has no dedicated endpoint for this) — the roll-up is computed here, stated in notes. Read-only. |
| get_storage_overview | The auto-categorized document tree (parentType → documentType with file counts) plus storage usage (total/used/remaining bytes, total files). Use a category's parentType + documentType with list_documents. Read-only. |
| get_subscription | What this account is subscribed to. `subscription` is the ONE product the customer pays for (Business-Unlimited, Retail-Core, …) with its price, status and expiry — that price is the TOTAL for the account. `includes` lists the capabilities that come WITH that subscription (Payroll, CRM, Inventory, …), each with an `available` boolean; `unavailable` is the short list of what is off. These are NOT separate purchases: never present them as add-ons or modules, never attach prices to them, and never sum anything into a combined total. `limits` are the effective ceilings the subscription confers (transactions, storage, users, businesses, stores); a null limit is UNKNOWN, never 0. `businessFeatures` covers per-business toggles (sales tax, SMS, transaction lock, webhooks, payment gateway), and `access` gives the caller's module permissions and which MCP tools their scopes allow. IMPORTANT: subscription entitlements are a SNAPSHOT taken when the user authenticated (NuMetric exposes no route to re-read them), so they carry `confidence: "Guarded"` and an `asOf` — report them as of that time and say that reconnecting refreshes them. Read-only. |
| get_transaction | Fetch one ledger transaction by id, including its full journal lines and the referenced document. Read-only. |
| list_bills | List vendor bills for the connected business (number, vendor, date, status, total, due). Read-only. |
| list_businesses | List every NuMetric business on the connected account, flagging which one is currently active and which you have read access to. Call this first if no business is selected: every other tool acts on the ACTIVE business, chosen with select_business. Read-only. |
| list_cash_invoices | List POS cash invoices with optional date range (from/to, YYYY-MM-DD) and exact customer-name filter. Returns a per-customer breakdown + total. Read-only. |
| list_cashiers | List the business's staff/cashiers — name, login email, id, last login. Use the email as the cashierEmail argument for get_cashier_attendance / get_cashier_sales_items / get_cashier_sales_invoices. Read-only. |
| list_chart_of_accounts | The business chart of accounts (id, name, type, section, current/non-current classification) grouped by section, with per-account balances joined live from the trial balance by accountId (confidence: Verified — check the returned balancesAvailable flag). SIGNS: balances are ledger-signed (debit − credit), so Liabilities/Equity/Income are NEGATIVE when normal and totalsBySection is negative for those sections — use each account's unsigned `magnitude` plus `side`/`isNormalSide` rather than reading the sign, and see `abnormalSideAccounts` for balances sitting opposite their natural side. Two further caveats, both in the returned notes: the chart is flat (no parent/child hierarchy), and the current vs non-current classification is a heuristic. Read-only. |
| list_customers | List customers and flag data-quality issues: names mapping to multiple ids (record fragmentation) and guest/walk-in placeholder records. Read-only. |
| list_documents | List uploaded documents of one category, grouped by the record they are attached to (invoice/bill/JV/product/…). Each file has name, type, size (bytes), uploader, and date. Requires parentDocType + documentType (from get_storage_overview). Read-only. |
| list_estimates | List estimates/quotes for the connected business (number, customer, date, status, total). Read-only. |
| list_invoices | List invoices for the connected business (merged general + overdue feeds, deduped and normalized). Read-only. |
| list_products | List inventory products with on-hand, reserved, low-stock flag and inventory value. Set lowStockOnly:true to return only products below their reorder threshold. Read-only. |
| list_projects | The business's projects (job/cost-centres) — id, name, active flag, description — paginated. Use the project ids with get_multi_project_profit_loss. Read-only. |
| list_vendors | List vendors/suppliers with their accounts-payable position DECODED, so the sign never has to be guessed: each vendor carries direction ("we_owe" | "they_owe" | "settled") plus non-negative amountWeOwe / amountTheyOwe, and the response totals both. The raw `balance` is ledger-signed (negative = unpaid bills we owe; positive = an overpayment the vendor owes us) — read the decoded fields, not the sign. Note this is the opposite sign to the same payable on the balance sheet, where liabilities print positive; that is presentation, not a contradiction. Read-only. |
| search_transactions | Search the journal ledger. Server-side filters: date range (from+to together, YYYY-MM-DD), type, category, and reviewed status. NOTE: filtering by account, counterparty, or amount is NOT supported by the NuMetric backend — see the returned "clientNote". Read-only. |
| select_business | Choose which NuMetric business the session acts on, by id or company name (see list_businesses). The choice persists for the session until changed; all subsequent tools use it. Read-only (no data is modified). |
