    How to connect Mapsource Geospatial API to Claude

    The server address to paste into Claude settings:

    1. Open Claude (claude.ai or the desktop app).
    2. Go to Settings → Connectors.
    3. Click Add custom connector.
    4. Paste the server address copied below into Remote MCP server URL and click Add.
    5. In a chat, click + → Connectors and switch the new connector on.

    Custom connectors are available on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans (Free is limited to one). On Team and Enterprise an organization Owner adds the connector first under Organization settings → Connectors.

    Authorization

    After you click Add, a sign-in window for the service opens. Sign in with your own account and approve access. Claude never sees your password.

    How to connect Mapsource Geospatial API to ChatGPT

    The server address to paste into ChatGPT settings:

    1. Open ChatGPT in a browser (chatgpt.com). A Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu plan is required.
    2. Turn on developer mode once: Settings → Apps → Advanced settings → Developer mode.
    3. Open Settings → Connectors and click Create.
    4. Fill in the form: Name (anything), Description (one line about what the service does), MCP server URL (copy it below).
    5. Under Authentication choose OAuth if the service requires sign-in, otherwise None. Click Create.
    6. In a new chat open + → Apps/Connectors and enable the connector.

    OpenAI has renamed this section before (Connectors → Apps/Plugins). If the label differs, search settings for "developer mode". On Business/Enterprise workspaces an admin must allow custom connectors first.

    Authorization

    On first use ChatGPT opens the service's sign-in window. Sign in and approve access.

    The server address to paste into Cursor settings:

    Fastest: click Open in Cursor below and confirm the prompt.

    Manually:

    1. In Cursor open Settings → Cursor Settings → MCP and click Add new global MCP server.
    2. Paste the JSON copied below into ~/.cursor/mcp.json (per project: .cursor/mcp.json in the repo root).
    3. Save the file. The server appears in the MCP list; authorize it there if asked.

    If the service needs sign-in, an authorize button appears next to the server in the MCP list.

    service_statusRead Overpass engine readiness, dataset timestamp, billing state, and x402 payment mode. Public. Use geo_data with operation status for the full subsystem report.
    basemap_catalogList raster and vector tile templates, source zoom ranges, dataset snapshots, and attribution. The catalog is public; tile requests require a subscription key.
    elevationSample terrain at lat/lon. elevationMeters is clamped to zero; sampledMeters retains the raw model elevation. belowSeaLevel identifies negative samples and bathymetryTile references the source raster. Requires a subscription key. Not survey-grade.
    geo_dataRead service status, basemap catalog, point elevation, contours, usage, and metrics. Status includes subsystem availability and replication lag. Elevation returns surface and raw model heights. Metrics report request rates, success rates, latency percentiles, and dataset ages. Status and basemaps are public; other operations require a subscription key.
    geo_styleConfigure semantic basemap styles. Operations: explain and schema retrieve public definitions; intent generates a proposal; preview compiles changes; save, list, revisions, diff, and delete manage profiles. Submit semantic manifests or preset patches, not raw MapLibre JSON. Authenticated operations affect the current key's profiles.
    geo_renderRender a static PNG map from a center and zoom or bounding box. Supports GeoJSON overlays, result handles, and up to 50 labeled markers. Dark and light styles use raster rendering; other preset or profile names use vector rendering. Requires a subscription key.
    geo_analyzeMeasure or transform geometry using buffer, centroid, bbox, area, length, distance, intersect, union, difference, contains, intersects, nearest, simplify, or convex. Inputs accept GeoJSON, coordinate pairs, Overpass results, and result handles. Polygon overlay operations require areas. Use operation pipeline for up to 12 ordered steps and estimateOnly for cost estimation. Requires a subscription key.
    geo_searchSearch places and retrieve geographic entities. Use lookup for local address, business, brand and landmark search with soft map-focus bias, strict house numbers, source IDs and ambiguity reporting. Use discover for POIs in a viewport, polygon or isochrone, optionally ranked by travel time. Other operations: search, autocomplete, nearby, reverse, details, geocode, resolve, entity. Requires a subscription key.
    geo_navigateNavigation operations: route, matrix, isochrone, map_match, snap, and optimize. Route accepts 2–10 waypoints and optional elevation profiles. Matrix supports up to 625 pairs. Map matching accepts up to 1,000 trace points; optimization accepts 3–20 stops. Results include geometry or travel costs and source metadata. Requires a subscription key. Unroutable requests return an error and require revised inputs.
    routeCalculate a turn-by-turn route between 2–10 waypoints. Supported costing: auto, bicycle, pedestrian, truck, motor_scooter, and bus. Returns GeoJSON, distance, duration, and maneuvers. Set elevation to true for a terrain profile with gain and loss. Requires a subscription key.
    isochroneCalculate reachable-area polygons from a coordinate for up to four travel-time bands. Returns GeoJSON for catchment, coverage, and accessibility analysis. Requires a subscription key.
    overpass_queryExecute bounded Overpass QL over OSM nodes, ways, relations, tags, geometry, areas, metadata, and spatial selectors. Historical attic queries are unsupported. Requires a subscription key or authorized x402 payment. Use service_status to retrieve the dataset timestamp.
    find_featuresFind cafes, restaurants, buildings, parks, schools, hospitals, transit stops, drinking water, or trails within a bounding box up to 0.5 degrees per axis. Returns OSM geometry and tags, subject to the output limit. Requires a subscription key or authorized x402 payment.
