    How to connect LocalPro — Verified US Local Service Provider Data to Claude

    The server address to paste into Claude settings:

    1. Open Claude (claude.ai or the desktop app).
    2. Go to Settings → Connectors.
    3. Click Add custom connector.
    4. Paste the server address copied below into Remote MCP server URL and click Add.
    5. In a chat, click + → Connectors and switch the new connector on.

    Custom connectors are available on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans (Free is limited to one). On Team and Enterprise an organization Owner adds the connector first under Organization settings → Connectors.

    Authorization

    After you click Add, a sign-in window for the service opens. Sign in with your own account and approve access. Claude never sees your password.

    The server address to paste into ChatGPT settings:

    1. Open ChatGPT in a browser (chatgpt.com). A Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu plan is required.
    2. Turn on developer mode once: Settings → Apps → Advanced settings → Developer mode.
    3. Open Settings → Connectors and click Create.
    4. Fill in the form: Name (anything), Description (one line about what the service does), MCP server URL (copy it below).
    5. Under Authentication choose OAuth if the service requires sign-in, otherwise None. Click Create.
    6. In a new chat open + → Apps/Connectors and enable the connector.

    OpenAI has renamed this section before (Connectors → Apps/Plugins). If the label differs, search settings for "developer mode". On Business/Enterprise workspaces an admin must allow custom connectors first.

    Authorization

    On first use ChatGPT opens the service's sign-in window. Sign in and approve access.

    Manually:

    1. In Cursor open Settings → Cursor Settings → MCP and click Add new global MCP server.
    2. Paste the JSON copied below into ~/.cursor/mcp.json (per project: .cursor/mcp.json in the repo root).
    3. Save the file. The server appears in the MCP list; authorize it there if asked.

    list_nichesList all available service directories in the LocalPro network. This is the starting point for discovering what categories of verified local service providers are available. Categories include water damage restoration, foundation repair, crawl space repair, basement waterproofing, mold/asbestos/lead remediation, radon mitigation, septic services, commercial electrical, floor coating, and laundry pickup & delivery. Returns niche IDs needed for all other tools.
    list_citiesList available cities and metro areas where verified providers operate for a given niche. Use this to discover valid city slugs before calling search_providers. Cities are grouped by metro area where applicable (e.g. "minneapolis-mn" covers Minneapolis, St. Paul, and surrounding suburbs). Optionally filter by state abbreviation.
    list_service_typesList the valid service type categories for a given niche directory. Use this before calling search_providers with a service_type filter to ensure you pass a valid value. Each niche has its own taxonomy — for example, "coated-local" has epoxy, polyaspartic, metallic_epoxy, etc., while "radon-local" has radon_testing, radon_mitigation, ssd_installation, etc.
    search_providersSearch for verified local service providers across 10 trade categories: water damage restoration, foundation/slab repair, crawl space repair, basement waterproofing, mold/asbestos/lead remediation, radon mitigation, septic services, commercial electrical, floor coating (epoxy/polyaspartic), and laundry pickup & delivery. Returns provider name, rating, review count, business status, services offered, certifications, years in business, and a link to the full profile with contact details. Each provider includes Google Maps URL when available. Covers major US metro areas. Use list_niches first to get valid niche IDs, and list_service_types for valid service_type values.
    get_providerGet a detailed summary of a specific verified service provider. Returns business description, services, pricing summary, coverage area, service details, and a link to the full profile page. With a valid API key (X-API-Key header): also returns full pricing breakdown and certifications. Without a key: returns pricing_summary and a pro_available flag. Contact details (phone, email, address) are available on the listing page via listing_url.
