    How to connect GlobalSource Partners MCP Server to Claude

    The server address to paste into Claude settings:

    1. Open Claude (claude.ai or the desktop app).
    2. Go to Settings → Connectors.
    3. Click Add custom connector.
    4. Paste the server address copied below into Remote MCP server URL and click Add.
    5. In a chat, click + → Connectors and switch the new connector on.

    Custom connectors are available on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans (Free is limited to one). On Team and Enterprise an organization Owner adds the connector first under Organization settings → Connectors.

    Authorization

    After you click Add, a sign-in window for the service opens. Sign in with your own account and approve access. Claude never sees your password.

    How to connect GlobalSource Partners MCP Server to ChatGPT

    The server address to paste into ChatGPT settings:

    1. Open ChatGPT in a browser (chatgpt.com). A Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu plan is required.
    2. Turn on developer mode once: Settings → Apps → Advanced settings → Developer mode.
    3. Open Settings → Connectors and click Create.
    4. Fill in the form: Name (anything), Description (one line about what the service does), MCP server URL (copy it below).
    5. Under Authentication choose OAuth if the service requires sign-in, otherwise None. Click Create.
    6. In a new chat open + → Apps/Connectors and enable the connector.

    OpenAI has renamed this section before (Connectors → Apps/Plugins). If the label differs, search settings for "developer mode". On Business/Enterprise workspaces an admin must allow custom connectors first.

    Authorization

    On first use ChatGPT opens the service's sign-in window. Sign in and approve access.

    The server address to paste into Cursor settings:

    Fastest: click Open in Cursor below and confirm the prompt.

    Manually:

    1. In Cursor open Settings → Cursor Settings → MCP and click Add new global MCP server.
    2. Paste the JSON copied below into ~/.cursor/mcp.json (per project: .cursor/mcp.json in the repo root).
    3. Save the file. The server appears in the MCP list; authorize it there if asked.

    If the service needs sign-in, an authorize button appears next to the server in the MCP list.

    search_research_entitiesSearch research entities by name or approximate name. Use this tool whenever a user refers to an entity by name and a research entity UUID is needed. Results are ranked by match quality and include the research entity UUIDs required by other research tools. When multiple results are returned, review the entity name, description, match type, match confidence, and available research count to determine the most appropriate entity before using its entity_uuid in another tool. This tool only searches existing research entities and does not create or modify data.
    read_research_authorRead a single research author by author UUID. Use this tool when a user wants profile details for a specific research author returned by another research tool. The response includes author metadata, biography fields, profile URL, and visible sectors associated with the author. Missing, inactive, non-author, and hidden-sector-only authors return a generic not-found error.
    search_research_postsSearch published research posts associated with one or more research entities. This tool requires research entity UUIDs. If only entity names are known, first call search_research_entities to obtain candidate research entities and their UUIDs. Use only entity_uuid values copied exactly from search_research_entities results. Never infer, guess, construct, or transform UUIDs from entity names. Use this tool only after selecting the most appropriate research entity from the search_research_entities results. Examples: - To find research about "United States", first call search_research_entities with "United States", review the returned matches, select the most appropriate entity, and then call this tool with the selected entity_uuid. - To find recent research about multiple entities, pass all selected entity_uuid values in research_entity_uuids. - To retrieve the next page of results, pass the previous response's next_cursor as cursor. Results can be filtered by publication date and retrieved using cursor-based pagination.
    read_research_postRead a single published research post by post UUID. Use this tool after calling search_research_posts and selecting the most relevant result. The response includes post metadata, authors, sectors, body HTML, and a URL. Depending on the authenticated MCP user's permissions, the body HTML and URL may expose either the full research post or teaser content. Missing, unpublished, and hidden-sector posts return a generic not-found error.
