The eight public MCP tools are free and read-only: they provide catalog metadata, documentation, and request builders, not live prices. Paid data is delivered through the x402-protected HTTP API with USDC settlement on Solana or Base. Starter credits require an eligible authenticated connector identity; anonymous public MCP and HTTP requests cannot spend those credits. Price receipts provide provenance, not cryptographically signed attestations.
