    How to connect asset-register to Claude

    The server address to paste into Claude settings:

    1. Open Claude (claude.ai or the desktop app).
    2. Go to Settings → Connectors.
    3. Click Add custom connector.
    4. Paste the server address copied below into Remote MCP server URL and click Add.
    5. In a chat, click + → Connectors and switch the new connector on.

    Custom connectors are available on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans (Free is limited to one). On Team and Enterprise an organization Owner adds the connector first under Organization settings → Connectors.

    Authorization

    After you click Add, a sign-in window for the service opens. Sign in with your own account and approve access. Claude never sees your password.

    How to connect asset-register to ChatGPT

    The server address to paste into ChatGPT settings:

    1. Open ChatGPT in a browser (chatgpt.com). A Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu plan is required.
    2. Turn on developer mode once: Settings → Apps → Advanced settings → Developer mode.
    3. Open Settings → Connectors and click Create.
    4. Fill in the form: Name (anything), Description (one line about what the service does), MCP server URL (copy it below).
    5. Under Authentication choose OAuth if the service requires sign-in, otherwise None. Click Create.
    6. In a new chat open + → Apps/Connectors and enable the connector.

    OpenAI has renamed this section before (Connectors → Apps/Plugins). If the label differs, search settings for "developer mode". On Business/Enterprise workspaces an admin must allow custom connectors first.

    Authorization

    On first use ChatGPT opens the service's sign-in window. Sign in and approve access.

    Fastest: click Open in Cursor below and confirm the prompt.

    Manually:

    1. In Cursor open Settings → Cursor Settings → MCP and click Add new global MCP server.
    2. Paste the JSON copied below into ~/.cursor/mcp.json (per project: .cursor/mcp.json in the repo root).
    3. Save the file. The server appears in the MCP list; authorize it there if asked.

    asset_addAdd one fixed asset to the register and return its id with the rate, useful life and convention taken from the bundled tax table. Cost and residual are whole minor units. Free tier holds ten assets.
    asset_listList the assets in the register with cost, method, rate and net book value at a date, filtered by scheme, category, project, currency or disposal state. Free and unlimited.
    asset_scheduleBuild the depreciation schedule for a stored asset, or price one not in the register, per year or per month, to residual or zero, with the table's rate, life and convention. Periods sum exactly to the base.
    asset_journalReturn the depreciation journal for one month: debit depreciation expense and credit accumulated depreciation, per asset and in total, plus an expense_add-ready payload per currency. It writes no expense. Pro.
    asset_disposeRecord that an asset left the business on a date and return the gain or loss against net book value. proceeds_minor is in MINOR units. Depreciation stops here, and a second disposal is refused.
    asset_deleteRemove one asset from the register when nothing depends on it: not disposed of, never journaled. Its free-tier slot is free again. An asset with a dependent is refused and the dependent is named. Free.
    asset_reportFor one year: net book value by category, scheme and currency at as_of, the year's depreciation charge per currency, and every disposal with its gain or loss. Pro; asset_list and asset_schedule are free per-asset views.
    license_statusReport this endpoint's licence state for your token as JSON: the product, the tier free or pro, why it is not Pro, and the checkout URL. Call it to explain a free-tier refusal. No arguments, nothing changes.
    license_activateTurn Pro on for this connection with key, an MCPL1.<payload>.<signature> issued at checkout for this server or the bundle. Data under your token stays; a wrong or expired key changes nothing. license_status confirms it.
